ti fa quest'effetto il mio dolore?

Tons of work to do, but wanted to let you all know the show went great! i slipped, but it was hilarious and went perfectly with the scene i was like YES. The only bad parts were that it was freezing tonight in Italy and I think a couple of my words got slurred pretty badly because my teeth were chattering and the little freshman who was in charge of "costumes" (though i supplied my whole outfit) tried to put this make up on me that was supposed to make me look old, but really just made me look like i had a skin disease. the little girl was so sweet... but i ended up taking it all off before the show... youll see it in some pictures on picasa though!! haha

i was kinda upset earlier today, about a lot of things, but you all know that i always do my best acting when im upset, haha.

everyone else did really great, too. The audience thought it was hilarious, we totally packed people in and there were people standing in the back because we didn't have enough room. Everyone said they understood everything, too, which i was a little surprised about, considering how much we jacked this play up, haha.

There was a reception afterwards with olives and drinks which was so nice, and a whole bunch of strangers came up to me and said "bravi!" lots of italian adults were there. Professors, staff of NYU, and their friends. My Fam and Gender prof was there!!! she was SO proud of me, haha. gave me baci on both cheeks (kisses). I told her i was about to go home to work on her paper and she laughed and said "dont worry about it!" ....doesnt mean im not gonna go home and work on that paper, haha. Another italian told me my accent was great. :)

There were lots of new friends there, too, which was really exciting. and emily came and held up an FBL (fac board love) sign and took pictures and videoed one of my scenes, which was very sweet. There were photographers and someone videoed it, so cross your fingers for that, and i got two programs (padres). looking at emily's photos after the show though, man i make horrendous faces when im acting. they're hilarious... why cant i be pretty like everyone else when i'm acting haha. my facial expressions are just ridic.

Super cute show, and the least commitment ive ever had in a show, which was nice haha. eric wrote each of us an individual letter which i thought was sweet. quote from it "'Your doctors are a pack of fools,' but all wise and perceptive people agree that YOUR wonderful Cleanthis is truly brilliant! Mille e mille grazie for all your professional quality talent, energy and commitment. Have fun and all my best wishes, Eric."
['Your doctors are a pack of fools.' was one of my lines. Sorry Dr. Stone's!]

of course, i got really sentimental with the final bow. I hate endings.

anyway, when all is said and done, im glad i did it. and now i have a bit more free time to do work!

up tomorrow night: an Opera by Puccini! then Perugia chocolate festival saturday. :) but tonight: the genderization of space... or was it?

"Molti bravi, bayca!"

ps a couple pics i just took will go up on picasa tonight! :)
